Waterworks Trickling Filter Extended Aeration (TFEA) sewage treatment was selected for an industrial complex on Tsing Yi Island in Hong Kong to meet strict space limitations and discharge requirements.
The 400 m3/day secondary treatment process is comprised of fine screening, aerated equalization, and TFEA biological treatment units. Sludge is digested in a aerobic sludge digester and pressed in a plate and frame type sludge press. Tertiary treatment is achieved using multimedia filters and chlorine disinfection.
